Ball winner, hatchet man, midfield destroyer, Captain Marvel. Terms that local football fans associate former Singapore football captain Nazri Nasir with.
For the past 20 years, Nazri has been a mainstay of the Singapore football scene. From winning the 1994 Malaysia Cup, playing in the inaugural S.League season to skippering Singapore to the 1998 ASEAN Football Championship title, Nazri has been there and done that in local football.
After retiring in 2008, football remains a constant in Nazri’s life. His post playing career has seen him take up various roles in football management including being General Manager for Tampines Rovers and coaching the Singapore National Football Academy U-15 teams.
Currently in his second season with the LIONSXII as Assistant Coach, we catch up with Nazri as he shares his thoughts about the upcoming Malaysia Super League, SEA Games 2015 and the launch of PlayPal.
